Overview:

Although the author admits she was never a fan of Valentine’s Day herself, this reviewer has always been and, in fact, an admirer of Valentine himself. Of love and Treason fleshes out his life in this historical fiction set in Rome, AD 270.

The emperor  has banned marriage but one man dares to defy him by performing clandestine weddings. Valentine believes in the sanctity of marriage and God’s blessing upon it so he defies the official proclamation and puts his life at risk in the doing. Parallel to that story is Valentine’s personal one. Iris, a Roman jailer’s daughter, is praying to Valentine’s God for healing of her blindness and at the same time, falling in love with the brave notorious church leader. Will God grant her prayers for healing and the desire of her heart for love?
