Overview:

In 1774 Virginia, Juliet Catesby lived with her father and sister on a plantation. They grew indigo, tobacco and other products that were exported to Scotland.

Having traveled to Scotland recently, I felt like I was familiar with current day Glasgow and other areas in the story. But times were so much different in 1700. Juliet is a smart independent woman. After discovering her father is close to losing the plantation, to save the plantation, Juliet is forced to marry a man she doesn’t know, in another country, a man she loathes. Yet a very interesting history develops from these new shores, as does love as well.
