This is an 1898 historical story of life as the world was hurtling toward World War 1. Inga Klein is a New Yorker whose life takes a dramatic turn when she is sent to Berlin to work as the secretary for American ambassador. Life at the embassy is glamorous but Inga finds herself constantly butting heads with Benedict Kincaid, chief of staff, who is prejudiced against Inga due to her German heritage. Little does she know that her life and that of Benedict will be connected in ways she never imagined.
