OVERVIEW

In Supernatural Power, Jared C. Wilson pulls no punches in confronting his readers in matters of morals, ethics, conversation, behavior, and attitude.  He focuses directly on aspects of the Christian life in which believers may have become slack in their personal disciplines, especially in regard to calling upon the Holy Spirit for guidance, focus, and obedience. Wilson offers advice and insights on ways to change wayward behaviors.

By creating a fictional character named Bill, the author presents scenarios in which Bill must make important decisions in areas of honesty, faith, leadership, righteousness, and witnessing. The author then assesses the positive and negative behavior patterns exhibited by Bill and shows how mistakes can be corrected and testimonies can be improved.  It’s a simple teaching technique, but as with biblical parables, it is effective.  It is storytelling with a lesson rather than confrontational preaching.
