Publication Date: July 2019

Length: 398 pages
OVERVIEW
What is oola? David Braun and Troy Amdahl explain the phrase (based on the expression “ooh, la, la”) is something they develop to symbolize living the optimal life, one that balances seven key areas:
- Fitness
- Finance
- Family
- Field (meaning career)
- Faith
- Friends
- Fun
Drawing on Biblical stories about Jesus’ teaching and his interactions with various people, the writers argues that people won’t reach their full potential until they balance all seven areas. Each chapter provides tips on how to achieve balance, as well as stories from “Oola Seekers” who are traveling the journey to living better for God.
Some readers may be turned off the way this book takes trendy self-motivational terms to describe the Christian life. For example, the authors sometimes refer to Jesus as “the ultimate guru,” which originally comes from Hinduism but has more recently become a non-religious term for a life coach. Odd marketing choices aside, the writers give sound Biblical advice about improving major life areas, and always emphasize the fact that only surrendering one’s life to Christ can lead to the ultimate “Oola life.” An interesting and ultimately quite helpful book on living one’s full potential for God.
