Overview:

Our author was born in a Sudanese refugee camp. Her father was a Muslim who died when she was only six but was she was raised a Christian by her mother. In Sudanese law the fact that she had a Muslim father legally made her a Muslim. This will plague her all her life and take her close to execution.

The culmination of the book is Mariam’s strong faith in the Lord and her willingness to die rather than deny her Christian faith. But what precedes this in her life is also incredible; the many hardships and ignominies she experiences will tear at your heartstrings but every word is true. An amazing testimony!
