Overview:

Pepper Basham’s books are a joy to read. They are light, funny, and always have a bit more to them to remind us that reading fiction can also teach us something.

In Sense and Suitability Emmaline is trying to survive her 3rd season, as her first two attempts have failed miserably. The reason the first season failed is because of the rake Simon Reeves. He led her to believe they would marry, until he disappeared without a goodbye. Emmaline doesn’t really need a husband as she is able to support herself with her scandalous career choice, writing.

Basham once again will delight Austin fans and those that are looking for a delightful and humorous regency romance. Between the swoon worthy kissing and almost kisses, a frog named Blast, and the other background characters, readers are in for a great treat. One that will lead you to many other delightful titles by Pepper Basham.

Rating:

5 out of 5

Particularly fans of Regency romances and Jane Austin
