Ten years ago a tragic accident took the life of Jun’s mother and he has not been the same since, particularly at Christmastime, a season his mother especially loved. He and his father Kazuya have drifted farther and farther apart since the accident until they barely interact with each other. But this Christmas, Kazuya is attracted to a sweet postcard dealer at the Munich Christmas Market, an event that his wife loved. He and Jun are both volunteers there, in her memory, and Jun has a chance encounter with a young woman filled with joy and excitement for the season. Binh is from Vietnam and her spark begins to cut through the unhappiness and depression that have become the strongest parts of Jun. A sweet book about the power of love and the true meaning of the season.
